Installing Optimum Online is easy. Simply follow three simple steps:
Be sure to split your cable at the earliest point of entry in your home using the cable adapter (splitter) we supply.
If you are using a USB port, simply plug the USB cable into the back of the cable modem, then into the back of your PC.
If you are using a NIC/Ethernet Card, install the card first. Next, plug the RJ-45 cable into the back of the cable modem, then into the back of your PC.
Note: USB cables will not work with Apple Computers. For maximum speed, we recommend connecting via Ethernet.
To set up your account and e-mail, insert the Optimum CD and follow the easy on-screen instructions. The CD can be found in your Optimum Self-Installation Kit.
